Top 10 London Karaoke Bars for Unique Sing-Along Experiences

London hits many of the right notes when it comes to karaoke – there are almost 70 bars and restaurants in the capital where you can belt out a ballad.

That’s sure to be music to the ears of any fan of public singing.

However, while there are scores of establishments offering microphones, teleprompters and song sheets, not all of them appeal, especially to more discerning karaokers.

We know that today’s karaoke fans demand not just crystal-clear playback and bumper songbooks bursting with thousands of karaoke classics but fine food and boozy cocktails.

With this in mind, we have sought out karaoke joints in London at the forefront of the luxury karaoke movement, where an indulgent mix of themed karaoke, international cuisine and killer cocktails await singers.

Given that you’re getting a luxury experience, it can be a bit pricey – average prices are in the region of £50-£80 per person for a one-hour session.

But we also have venues on our list that offer budget-friendly sessions, special deals for large parties and even free-of-charge karaoke sessions when you spend a wedge on food and drink.

As for the geography of the bars, our top ten features some familiar haunts in and around Soho, Covent Garden and the City, and also some hidden karaoke gems that perhaps won’t be familiar to you.

We’ve got special occasions covered, too – so if you’re looking for some birthday karaoke or want to blast out a few tunes on a hen do, read on.

NB: Our list is ordered by Google rating scores.

    Karaoke: Food for Thought

Karaoke has gone back to its Asian roots over the past few years.

    London’s sing-along scene hasn’t escaped this trend.

A pair of recent arrivals – BAO and BAM – draw heavily on their Asian heritage for everything from their in-room aesthetics to their menus.

Indeed, up-scale international cuisine has become as important to today’s demanding karaoke fans as exhaustive song catalogues and crystal-clear sound systems.

Number one on our list, BAM, even has a culinary director, Sabrina Gidda, who has brought a fusion of East and West cuisine to the bar’s menu.

Add luxury cocktails to the mix, and you have a mix of food, drink and entertainment that makes for a pitch-perfect night out in London.
