McLaren Racing, American Express and Network Rail coming together to create jobs for London

A set of powerhouse global companies are being brought together to create jobs for people in London.

McLaren Racing, American Express, and Network Rail are among the firms to have been teamed up with the likes of BAE Systems, Royal Navy, and UK Power Networks among others by an organisation called EqualEngineers – an enterprise that empowers organisations to engineer inclusive cultures to attract, develop and retain talent.

On Wednesday, November 2, this set of major corporations will showcase what they are about during a career fair at Conway Hall in Holborn from 10 am to 3.30 pm.

At the event, attendees can learn about what it is like to work for each of the world-renowned institutions while finding out what to expect from pursuing a career with them.

Asked about the careers fair, EqualEngineers founder and managing director Dr. Mark McBride-Wright, who won the prestigious Royal Academy of Engineering Rooke Award in July 2022 for his public promotion of engineering, said:

“Have you ever considered a career in engineering or technology? Perhaps you’re looking for some opportunities for when you finish school or college? Or maybe you’re already in your career and are looking for a change?

“Whatever the case, this careers fair will give you the opportunity to speak with organisations looking to recruit talent just like you.

“They will answer your questions about opportunities they are actively recruiting for and we will also have some training providers and educational establishments to talk about how they will support you alongside employers.”

The careers fair is free to join, for more information and to register your attendance head here: https://careersfairs.equalengineers.com/event/london-engineering-technology-careers-fair-2022/#register-to-attend.

A gay safety engineer by trade, Dr. McBride-Wright understands the issues facing underrepresented groups and he set up EqualEngineers to specifically target female; ethnic minority; lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT+); disabled; and neudivergent engineers, and other underrepresented groups in the profession.

    He added:

“Engineering employers want to recruit inclusively and want access to underrepresented talent across multiple identities. This has been my primary driver in setting up EqualEngineers. I want to get 100,000 diverse engineers into engineering and technology by 2025, and you could be one of them by attending this fair!”
