Christmas can be an expensive time of year.
Fortunately, not everything we do over the festive period has to come with a hefty price tag.
London has some wonderful events and experiences that are both fun for all the family and free of charge.
Our list features thirteen of the best of them.
Among this year’s gratuitous events, you’ll find immersive snow flurries, stunning Oxford Street window displays, light-based art installations and a parade of ceramic penguins.
We have selected experiences in and around central London and all of them run throughout Christmas and most of them into the new year so you have plenty of time to enjoy them.
Bear in mind that while the events are free, the organisers of some of the events on our list encourage you to donate.
Let it snow and off we go.
NB: Our list is in no particular order.
